Default Storing a 99

Hi,

I will be leaving my 99 for a few months and will need to store it.
It is inside in a southern climate.
I want to disconnect the battery as there is not a provision for a battery tender. It is a newer (less than a year) 7 year Delco battery so lets assume it keeps its charge.
Do these cars generally come "out of sleep" ok?
I will fill tank with gas and other precautions. I'm just not familiar with C5's what is maintained by the battery.
TIA
Pete

Add a little gas stabalizer before you fill the tank and pull the neg connection to the battery when the day comes....

I store mine over the winter with the battery removed and all I have to do is re-sync my key fob and re-enter the radio presets.

Something else to consider!! This info came from CF members..
Lay some moth ***** under the car (found some in a pouch) and get some Irish spring soap for
under the hood. Set some on/around the wheels,,etc. This will keep mice and other critters from EATING
your wire harness's and building nest in the dash, vents, etc..
I live in the mt's farm land...Had them in under my Haley seat, and under my mower lid...

Go ahead and take the battery out of the car. Won't hurt anything. Add some Sta-Bil to a near empty tank and then fill up, put something like some Bounce sheets in the engine bay and interior cabin to help keep critters away, then cover the car with a good car cover. You may also want to put a little additional air in the tires. The car should be fine when you start it back up again.

Change the oil.
Adjust tire air pressure to 50 psi
you might want to put some damp rid or similar product inside the cabin to prevent mold/mildew.
Add a Fuel stabilizer... There are others other than Stabil that are also system cleaners (SeaFoam)
Wash/wax
I like to spray some armor-all or similar on the weather stripping.

You don't need to do much for a couple of months beyond disconnecting the battery. But, if you're worried about it then fill it with ethanol free gas and change the oil if it's getting close to requiring a change. I've seen more messed up fuel and fuel systems from using stabilizer as not using anything so I just don't trust that stuff.
