service system on my display , code says there is a internal malfunction, tech 2 confirmed , My question is what is the electric motor looking motor on the brake control module do , how to check if it turns freely if it is a motor , cause I had the hvac / blower motor freeze up and I broke it free and now no problem . Ebtcm are not available through GM , so I want to exhaust all my options, before looking for a used one , cause I know they don't make or sell new ones , and 99s ( ebtcm ) are not rebuildAble .
We really can't help you since you have not shared what code or codes you have. I have seen cases where the pump ground was bad. If you have C1255 it may be something that can not be fixed at all.
i have the 1255 code of death. i can use a scanner and see that it is seeing everything it is supposed to. just no ability for ABS and TC to work because of the internal malfunction.
Your choices are hunt down an ebcm (which one day will go bad again) which I did and it cost around 1500 or you can have the code deleted.
With that said I have a question. Could you get a new pcm, ebcm and bcm and repin it to a 2004 corvette and just replace all the computers? Wouldn't that be cheaper?

Sounds so simple on paper doesn't it? Don't forget replumbing the brake lines too.

I would love to get code 1255 deleted. can't do it through hptuners. so what other way is there? can a tech II do it?

No, Tech 2 cannot. It can only change VIN related things in the PCM and BCM. They didn't want the dealer techs to be able to alter design aspects of the car.
C1255 is an ABS code. Pulling the ABS fuses would be the only way to make it go away.
But wouldnt you then get the p1571 and service engine soon like i did when the ebcm module quit communicating? Mine finally started communicating again after messing with the connector.

Of course you'd get the ABS system failure messages, but the C1255 code would go away...

Much worse is my opinion. And the lights still stay on. I did read your thread back in 2012 about swapping to newer ebcm. Interesting read. One day someone will do the swap. Id consider it, but i drive mine everyday.
