You'll just have to go old school to keep up with the air pressure in your tires and use a tire guage... it is a nice feature without a spare to be able to check your tire pressure frequently and know it's going to give you a heads up if one starts going down...
that being said... won't hurt a thing, we did it for several years without it.
The DIC will show an error message each time you start the car. You can clear it with the reset button.
I drove my '99's with different sets of wheels fairly often and some sets did not have TPMS. It doesn't hurt anything, it just makes you clear it once each trip.
The '99 did not have an option for no TPMS. So I don't think the Tech 2 can change it.
I think the only ones that a Tech 2 can change are the '01-'04 cars since the Z06 had that option.
100% CORRECT! In 2001, the ZO6 was released and did NOT come from the factory with the TPMS Option. Thus, it was able to be deleted in the BCM using the Tech2.
However, IF,, you desire to have TPMS on a ZO6, you can also ADD it on by enabling the RPO in the BCM and adding the Pressure sensors. I have them on my 02 ZO6.
That being said, You can NOT remove that option from the 97-2000 BCM!
Hope that clears up the TPMS Info
YES,, You will need to clear the messages in the DIC each time you start the engine if you don't have the sensors installed.
Thank's for the info guy's . Well Bill there not cheap and hear so many have trouble programing aftermarket sensors .
IF you get sensors... program them BEFORE they go in the wheels... make sure you mark them and they go in order... that way you know, if they work or not and you won't have the headache of mounting, unmounting, remounting... yada blaaaa

The technology keeps improving and I would be really surprised if there was any problem at all. I just changed my sensors last month - bought 4 new ones - boy have they changed - they are SMALL - about 1/4 inch thick, and less than a 1/2 square. Good for 6 years or so. They programmed just as the Corvette manual instructs. The installer uses a handled computer but they still need to use a magnet which he was reluctant to do.
You may have trouble finding shops that will do work that could be considered disabling TPMS
(mounting tires, etc.) since there is a potential large fine to them from the feds.
