Ok guys, idk if this is the right section or not but i searched for a long time and could not find a good answer on how to use the factory c5 clutch safety switch for the msd 2 step module (#8733) Everyone's way of doing it contradicted each other. so me and a buddy started doing some testing and looked at some diagrams and then we figured a good way to do it.
the original plan was to just tap into the factory safety switch (with the 12v activation wire) but the problem with that is the safety switch only has power when the key is in the start position. so that obviously wont work.
So we ended up cutting the 2 wire to the safety switch and soldering them to gather (im very aware that this will allow the car to start in gear without the clutch in). Then running a ground wire from one side of the safety switch to a good ground(we used the cigarette lighter ground) then we ran the other side to a toggle switch so i can turn the 2 step activation off (the car is a daily driver) and then from the toggle switch to the msd 2 step module.
Works great and was very simple to do (hardest part was running the wire threw the firewall lol ). Very satisfied with it.
