Hey everyone i'm new here and i need serious help!i have a 1999 c5 corvette and whenever i turn the headlamps on i notice the driver's side headlight comes on but the passenger's side wont.It was fine one day then it just seemed to not work. Can someone help me figure out what may be the problem?i checked the fuse box and nothing seems to be wrong.i believe it's the 8,9 and 10 fuse. Not too sure but any help is better then no help.thanks in advance.
Look at the bright side. You have been thanked 29 times while Sam only 7...... Must mean something...
It means even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then...lol
My stats say I've been a member since 2012.. 2 years of that were intermittent on the C3 forum when we got the C5 a year ago is when this education started... maybe after 8 or 9 years on the forum like you guys I'll have learned something Keep up the good work
Do you mean head lamps come on (illuminate) or come up???
If you mean headlamps illuminate, there are 4 fuses for the headlamps. 8 Right low beam, 9 right high beam, 10 left low beam and 12 left high beam. If the fuses are all good then have you tried both low and high beam? Bulbs could be bad????
If you mean headlamps don't come up then there are two fuses for the headlamp motor (3 right motor and 4 left motor) , There are also several other causes of headlights not coming up. These include the headlight control module failing and gears inside the motor failing.
Headlamps illuminate.I checked all fuses and all of them are fine.Bought brandnew replacement bulbs but passenger side headlamp still wont turn on.thanks for your help.Any other ideas?
Try this. Open the hood. On the back of each headlight you'll see a large **** that allows you to manually open and close the headlights. Since your problem is with the passenger side, turn the **** to open the headlight (counter clockwise to open - and you have to turn it a lot to see some results). If it feels really tight when you first start to open the headlight, open the headlight slightly, then close it back but don't tighten it very much...just enough to make sure it's closed. Now try the light switch and see if it opens normally. If it does open, your problem is the little plastic (or hard rubber) stops. These can be replaced or repaired in different ways if that is the problem. See if this helps and if it does, we'll see about getting the stops replaced. I had this same issue but mine was on the driver's side. Now fixed.
