Custom Exaust Question
My problem is at idle I think (IMHO) it sounds like crap. I'm pretty sure my cats are blown (I developed a bit of a rattle, plus notice little small ****** of something in the carbon on the exaust tips ). Now I'm planning on replacing the cats with some from Random Tech, but I don't want to blow those out, and I want to use the opportunity to tune the exaust a bit, so here's what I'm thinking:
In the middle of the car where the two exaust pipes come together (right before the "H" pipe), I want to cut part of that out and install a Borla Dual In/Out straight-thru type muffler and keep the SLP pipes installed. There seems to be a few inches of clearance above the pipes, and I'm thinking a small muffler would fit. Has anyone tried this, and if so, which model did you use? Does anyone think this is a workable idea?
Thanks,
:seeya Jeff
