oil pan gasket replacement
Does anyone have a pic where the sealant is suppose to go on the one piece gasket? It says in manual to place where it protrudes into the pan. I see two places where gasket just barely does this and it is on the front and rear same side of the pan by the oil filter area. I read some say at the four corners and where it meets the timing chain cover. I only want to do this ONCE!! What a PIA to basically pull everything but the block just for a gasket change. I rebuilt my motor in May and went through the same issue. I ended up putting sealer on all four corners and where the front and rear covers met the pan surface. Hope this helps. no leaks after 4000 miles on rebuilt motor.
