Code P1626
1998 vert 65K miles. About every two weeks I check the codes on the car to see if there are any problems hiding. Today I had one code 10-PCB P1626 H Theft deterrent system fuel enable circuit. What would cause this code? Thanks in advance for any help.

I was having a similar issue in the VATS system with code P1626 and it was the pellet in my key not reading properly. I replaced the key and all was well with my car. I first tried cleaning the pellet imbedded in the key, that did not fix the problem thus the replacement key. All is well with my VATS system now. Hope this helps.

I cleared the code took car for a ride checked codes and checked before shutting car off code was back with the C. The car ran fine with no problems observed, just do not want to be stranded.
