I went to the track and ran a best 12.6@110 2.0 60' But then I see another Vette run a 12.2@110 I dont know what his 60' time was though. How could we both have the same mile an hour but hes .5 faster than me? Is it the 60' time? But if it is that shouldnt he of had a better mph? I dont know this doesnt make any sense to me
Gearing comes into consideration. Is it a 6 speed or auto? You may be getting traction (2.0 60' is pretty good in a c5), and he may be spinning, but have more power. Before my rebuild I would go 12.0 @ 118. With 118 MPH I should have been deep into the 11's, but the car wouldn't hook.
Well I know I spun all the way through first and got a second gear sqeal also. The reason I know I ddi this is when I got back to the house and watched my runs I was spinning pretty bad.But I thought the 60' time wasnt to bad on runflats. My car is a A4. Not sure about the other one though.
Are you racing this person at the track (side by side)? Altitude makes up for alot. Guys in Houston are posting up to .5 quicker than people in AZ. Its common for guys in Denver to run in the 14's with a cat back C5
Bad 60' = bad ET, simple as that. You should be in the 1.7x 60' range with your converter/gears on a good hook which would put you in the 12.10-12.20 range. Your MPH is good for the weather, a set of of BFG drag radials and 50 degree -DA weather will get you in the 11s probably..
I would go headers first for your car. 2.0 60ft's with your heads and cam your in the 11's easy. Instead of headers I personally think you should get a stall converter. My car was heaiver by at least 130 pounds and has 30ish less rwhp yet we were side by side at the 1/8. The converter with no other changes should get you in the 11's. BTW: That was fun as heell running you yesterday. I love those late model C5's.
