04 -Z LS-6 Just installed new Comp. cam 230/236 595/595 LSA 112+4 Mag roller rockers new Brian Tooley 660 double valve springs springs new lifters molly push rods ETC. Put it on the rollers @6300 RPM valve float ,anybody know why this setup is doing this ..It should go to 6500-7000 easy??? Thanks
What is the SEAT PRESSURE and installed valve heights??
What length pushrods did you use??
How did you check for proper push rod length??
What rockers are you using?
When you installed the rockers, are they fully seated on top of the rocker perch and are the rocker bolts properly torqued?
This.
You need to re-assess these things.
Also... particular brands of roller rockers are notoriously heavy over the valve, making them tougher to control at higher RPM especially when using an aggressive lobed cam(appears you are). What rockers are you using?
Titanium retainers? Lighter you can get the valve train, the better and less likely you have these issues. BTR springs are solid, assuming your install heights are good, Id probably eliminate those as an issue.

I have Patriot Stage 2 heads with Gold springs and stock GM rockers and Ti retainers. I have a pretty stout cam and I set the redline at 6850. I can easily go to 7000 RPM.
Something isn't right. What is your redline set at???
I called Brain Tooley today ,he said I have the wrong rocker spring combo .I am using Comp. Mag rollers he said put the stock ones back in and get up on it he didn't have any good things to say about the Mag roller rockers so back to stock rockers ,anybody need a set of Mag rollers like new ..Thanks for the input ,he said that would fix it 440 RWHP prop. go to 450 HP if get to wind to 65-6800 with out the float ,not bad for a small cam and ported stock heads and bolt ons..
