Default Headlight dropped down while driving.

I turned on my headlights to leave work. I noticed my drivers light assembly was 'bouncing' and eventually it fell down. I got home and played with it. I can raise and lower the headlight without any resistance. I found an arm hanging off the motor that appears is supposed to attach under the headlight housing somewhere. Please see my pics.

The first two pics show the hanging arm, I see a hole like a bolt would go through it.

the last pic is of my passenger headlight, where that same arm goes. I can't see it myself. The best I could do was take a pic with my phone. Sorry for the blur. If anyone has insight what I am looking at, please elaborate what I need to do to correct this! Thanks!

You are missing the bolt that attaches to the arm. This happen to me many years ago and I was to far from service so I installed a threaded bolt with a lock nut. I've forgot about doing that until I saw this post. It's been 10 years.

So these bolts just back out over time? Lol. Is there any thing else this bolt hold in place? Is it a special design or can I get a generic bolt and nut like you did? Lastly, how do I most easily access this bolt?

I removed my headlight painted cover and was able to reach my arm down there. I found an aluminum pin that must be what wiggled out. I was able to press it back in through the arm. Was there anything to hold the pin on the other side? It didn't feel like it. It felt quite secure. I guess I will see how well it holds.

Default Push-on retainer

This is missing from your pivot pin:

Look for it laying in the bottom, or remove pin, drill hole and use cotter pin or hairpin clip.

Yes that's what I imagined would be on the end. I could not find it but I'll go purchase another one! Thanks!

If you want to eliminate the likelihood of it happening again, drill a hole and use either of the two types of retainers I mentioned.
That OE style push-on retainer is a crappy design.
