Do the LG pro series headers have a lg name plate on them? Im buying a used set and want to make sure they are 100% and i dont see a lg name plate on the headers?
They do have a plate spot welded on the header. Mine is on the passenger side but the headers are ceramic coated and the plate is not legible under the coating. You have to look for it to see it. I think LG has made changes to the location of the plate through the years, so it may be in a different location on other LG's. Not my photo but it shows the tag on the header.

I sold mine several years ago but I don't remember them having a plate. Might want to shoot an e-mail to LG. Do you have a photo of the headers you can put up? That might help.

I agree, I don't remember a plate on mine either? However, they've been in there a while now.
Is there a way to tell how old they are? And is there any difference between older and newer styles? I can get the whole kit never installed for $1200 . What do u guys thinks?

those look like Lg's to me as well... they are probably an older set, the newer ones do not have the mounting tabs near the collector... I bought mine 5 years ago and they do not have those tabs, so I would say this set has to at least be that old or older... mine do have a tag spot welded to the #2 cylinder primary but then again the older sets may not have had this tag

That's a photo of mine which are new and, as yet, uninstalled. That is where they place the name tag now. Mine have also been ceramic coated and the plate is now illegible.
So if they are a older set of lg pros, question is if there is any design change from say 5 or more years ago with newer models say current - 2 years old? Mostly fitment / quality / and or design. And do people feel $1200 if a good deal considering they are 5 or more years old but never installed.

I think borla made the headers for LG a few years back. Mine are almost 2 years old and still have the LG plate on them. I have no idea if the design changed. I would say $1200 with cats is not the best deal but not horrible.

what is welded in the #6 primary?... I just noticed that but I'm pretty sure they didn't come that way from LG, maybe it's for an egt gauge?... I wouldn't want it there if it isn't needed, especially on a brand new set... and I don't see any clamps but the ones LG supplies aren't the best anyway... I would suggest using some stainless lap band clamps like these instead, http://www.jegs.com/i/Dynomax/289/33272/10002/-1 ... you would need 6 to do the whole system

I thought this was for the AIR set up? Please tell me if im wrong? The more i think about it for $1200 for headers that the owner doesnt seem to know much about it scetching me out more and more. He said his dad ordered them for his 03 vette. But on LG's site they offer the AIR fitting option for 97-2000. So why would he want this for a 03? And he said these are ceramic coated, but on LG's site for the pro LT headers they dont come coated. And a few other things like the ad on craigslist says " custom exhaust set up"? Why the hell would you write that if they are LG pros? Why not write that? And also in the ad it states that these headers can be used for manu different set up's beside the c5 corvette? Really ?? No way they are vehicle specific. Just seems odd. And now someone points out the piece welded on the primary below the AIR fitting. Please guys i need your help on this BIG TIME. If i pass on this deal im not screwing around with used ill just go buy new ARH from slowhawk and get everything done from Don as a package deal.
Mine had that as well. I believe it is to accommodate the early dipstick bolt location which was later moved to the head. Looks like the AIR connections were modified to provide better support. Might have broke off at one time. I cut mine off and weld filled the tube so I didn't care about the AIR connection.

ok that makes sense but it looks kinda sloppy to me compared to the picture of Ed's header... and you're right about the air pipe mounts being reinforced, I forgot about that... the newer ones are reinforced but the older ones were not so the owner probably had those added on, no biggie... I wish LG would offer them without the air pipe mounts for those of us who aren't using them... they also do not appear to be ceramic coated as the owner is stating... you could buy a brand new set of LG's or ARH's for just a few hundred more than what they are asking so if you have a bad gut feeling then I would probably go that route for peace of mind
