Re: Frame Savers (RWH)
Don't know about other manufacturers, but Andy Green @ A and A is a supporting vendor/tuner here and he made and installed mine. I got to see them in action just minutes after he did the install. My 2002 got the infamous "Service Column Lock" just before I arrived at Andy's shop and after the install, we watched the Frame Saver wheels work quite well as the car was being dragged onto the flatbed tow truck!!!
My car is lowered and I live at the beach where the parking lots have lots of speed bumps. Believe me...these things work!
It's not like I patented them or anything, but there's only one Frame Saver or Rocker Rail. A few other guys have copied them. The Combo is on sale at $99. That's the best deal around., ANDY
Don't even bother shopping around...get Andy's from A&A. They're on sale now and are the only ones I've seen mentioned on the Forum...and they both work great! And besides, Andy's an honest, down-to-earth person to work with on his products.
I installed the rocker panel on mine myself. Hardest part is getting the car up high enough to get the drill under the car. After that 10 min per side for the install.
For the frame savers, I don't have those yet, but I installed them for my friend. Took about 20 min. You don't even have to jack up the car for these. You just have to have the ability to drill straight.
Andy is only the inventor of the frame savers and rockers...great product, great service and Andy is great to deal with...I have installed my frame savers and have yet to open my rocker rails as they are packaged so great...PVC PIPE...I don't wanna open it... :yesnod:   :D
GET 'EM FROM ANDY>>>GET 'EM NOW...YOU CAN'T BEAT THIS PRICE!!! :chevy
Just got mine delivered from A&A yesterday and the quality looks top notch. Can't wait to get them installed this weekend and get the car dropped. :)
Install looks ridiculously easy, too. :yesnod:
Only one question- how long do the wheels usually last? Are they lifetime, or 30,00 miles or....? (Obviously this varies on how many times the hit the pavement, but anyone have a ballpark?)
I'll tell you what...everyone raves about the frame savers, but these rocker rails I have on my car have saved my under carriage and exhaust system a bunch of times. The other thing that I love about the rocker rails is you can jack the car from the middle of the door and raise the entire side of the car, not just a corner. Andy welded my frame savers and bolted on my frame rails in like 1 min. and 38 sec. or was that 39sec...it was fast. Get um :smash:
I bought the package from Andy for our 03 AE Vert and when we get it in November at NCM this will be my first mod! Cheap when compared to the alternatives.
Bill :) :)
I didn't drill my first hole quite large enough on the frame rails and broke the first screw off trying to muscle it in. Other than that install went great on both the wheels and rails, price was great, delivery prompt and quality of product top notch. Give Andy an e-mail and order up, price is right. :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod:
Frame savers and rocker rails from Andy@AandACorvette. One of the first and best mods I put on and WELL WORTH the time and effort. Also the price is cheap compared to a "fix". So far after many "uses" of the frame savers, the wheels look great!
Only one question- how long do the wheels usually last? Are they lifetime, or 30,000 miles or....? (Obviously this varies on how many times the hit the pavement, but anyone have a ballpark?)
I've had mine for about a year. Everytime I go up and down my driveway they get put to the test :D So far no problems. I would guess they will last many years.
