Default Fixed problem with C5 driver door wiring

I am a new member and I recently purchased my first Corvette. Beautiful 2000 C5 Magnetic Red. Everything worked fine until one day the drivers window would not work and gauges fell out all kinds of alarms. Well to make a long story short I found the 6 wire connector under the rubber boot was not getting a good connection. I would wiggle it and it would work for a while then everything would go haywire again. I cut the old connector out and bought a new 6 wire connector. Not the same kind. The one GM uses is not a very good connector. Pins can easily work loose. After installing new connector everything has been working great. Even my memory seats. Just thought I would pass this along. The other connector in the door boot looks like it is a better connector. The 6 wire one is the culprit. Later WTB

I had the same problem a couple of years ago with my 01.
Sprayed my connector with cleaner, and still works fine.

Good deal that you were able to diagnose and fix the problem with your car. Saved yourself quite a bit of money I'm sure.

here. Bill Curlee, Vettemanjack, Lionel Hutz and Dadaroo all have a wealth of knowledge. Going through and cleaning the numerous grounding points is a good PM measure.

Congrats. Love my C5, and hope yours is great for you.

Pull the black accordion tube off at the A pillar and the connector is shoved up in the A pillar. There is not a lot of room when you pull i tout. I had the same issue months back and took mine apart, cleaned it good, re-bent the pins to make better contact and put it all back together, no issue since.

FInd Bill Curlee's thread, he took good pics that show it really well.
