A4 red gear indicator quit working

Default A4 red gear indicator quit working

had my shift cable replaced a few mos back. I notice the other day the little Red indicator is now stuck on L. Kind of a pain. Is this a hard fix ?

It's easy, just pop off the PRD321 plate and remove the (broken) plastic bits. While you are there replace the bulb with an LED. The heat is what damaged the red indicator piece.

Default shift indicator

I had to replace the indicator in my 2001 and I had to the leather boot and that required removing the radio bezel. It was a pain for such a small part. Here is a link to the new part:

sounds like a plan. any tips for removing PDR321 plate.

useless rant:what's up with these bulbs that burn things up.? My turn sig housings have holes burnt in them . What freakin, highly paid GM engineer designs things that burn themselves up..
