the tuner told me this cam 231/242 .617"/.592" 112+2 would pick 20 to 30rwhp and should have good street manners?

I dont understand the 112+2 ?

Forgetting about the +2 for the moment, your intake duration is 231 (at 0.050" lift) centered around 112 after top dead center. Your exhaust duration is 242 degrees centered around 112 degrees before top dead center.

Now taking into account the +2, that's an amount of advance built into the cam, which offsets by 2 degrees where the lobes are centered. The intake will be centered at 110 after top dead center, the exhaust at 114 before. The advance generally tends to push the torque and hp a bit lower rpm-wise.

Based upon your earlier comments I believe this cam is going to lope and shake a lot more than you would prefer, but I don't disagree about it picking up the 20 to 30 versus what you are running now.

Being ok with a little bit of shake and lobe, I think you will want less than 230 duration and a 114-115 lsa.

could I still pick up 20+ rwhp? stock like idle or mild lope/shake?
