Default checklist of issues

So I've been slowly working off issues on my 2003 Z06. My next project is to replace plugs, wires, lubricate the rear axle spline, and install a Elite engineering oil catch can. Today i removed the fuel rail covers and this is what i see...

I'm assuming these are original.

Is this supposed to be connected to something

i need to add flushing the radiator to my list

filthy (how can i clean it)

filthy. How can i clean it

last week I had a exhaust leak repaired and the car drives like a beast. I don't want it to be a show car but my Type A personality can't handle how dirty it is under the hood. Any advice on how to clean and save my engine is much appreciated

I would take it to the quarter car wash ,but there are some on this forum that don't recommend that. or use a de-greaser and spray it off with a hose ether way I would do it hot !!!

Thanks for the reply. I'm a little hesitant to spray pressurized water on there. I thought that wasn't good for electrical system. So you're saying its cool to spray degreaser and hit it with a hose? Also, is that just basic electrical tape holding the wires?

WHAT EVER YOU DO,,,, DO NOT HOSE OFF THE TOP OF THE ENGINE!

Use compressed air and blow off the excess dust and dirt. I use a good cotton rag and some plain ole WD-40. Spray it on and wipe it down. It will look good as new!

Here is what will DIE if you hose off the top of the engine:

Under the intake manifold, there are two KNOCK SENSORS,, They live in a well inside the cover. The well is covered with a little plactic cover. IT IS NOT WATER TIGHT! The well will fill with water and yopu will get a KR DTC and you will have to replace the Knock Sensors.

Here are two that are sealed with blue RTV:

All the primary electrical connectors are water tight! That sure does NOT mean that they are water PROOF. Care to challenge MURPHY?

I strongly do not recommend washing of hosing off the top of the engine.

I have in the past used degreaser on the pan and lower sides of the engine and the chassis and hosed it off BUT, never the top of the engine.
