Default ? for yas

I have a question about the air conditioner blower. Its not about the vette, but its a chevy full size pickup. The blower isn't working. The blower attached to the belts spins sometimes and makes clicking noises when it stops spinning. And it evens blows out the vents sometimes. Any ideas? All the fuses are good. Bad switch maybe? Or blower? Thanks for any thoughts!!!

Are you maybe referring to the a/c compressor? If so, the clicking you hear is probably the clutch engaging and disengaging. When it is disengaged it does not spin even though the pulley behind it does. When it is engaged, it spins like the pulley. This cycling on and off is normal, the compressor does not run all of the time, even with the a/c on. Your blower (fan motor) is a different deal altogether. It is located inside the truck someplace (behind the dash, probably) and could have a dead spot in the armature or be shorting out someplace. More likely is a bad a/c control head, but there is no way to tell without pulling the codes or running diagnostics.
