On my 99GTP the HUD would autodim using the same ambient light sensor that the headlights use. But it looks like on my 02 the HUD does not auto dim. Is this supposed to be like this? I find it very hard to believe that a 25K car would have that feature and a 50K car would not.
Dimming can only be controlled by the slider swich for the HUD. It allows more control for personal preference than a preset level controlled by a sensor.

Understood, but I had that in the GP too. I would set it for a level of brightness that I liked then it would dim at night just the same as the radio lights do, again it was always adjustable whether dimmed or not.

I agree, that would be a great feature, I always have to dim the HUD manually at night. What the hell were they thinking? It would have been so simple to implement.
