I just traded straight up for a '99 FRC Vette with 120k miles. It runs great, might need some transmission work as 4th gear synchro seems to be on its way out. Regardless, fun car to drive. It is completely stock. I am unsure how much I want to put into it since it is getting up there in miles but it is a little too quiet for my liking. Those of you with upgraded exhaust, do you recommend just doing straight pipes or going with a catback muffler system? I don't want it to be extremely loud, just louder than stock. I had straight pipes on the car I traded for the FRC and it "droned" a lot - I don't want that. I look forward to your replies. Thanks!
You stated that you really didn't want any DRONE. Straight pipes will have so much drone that the car will be uncomfortable to drive!
Some aftermarket systems also have a lot of drone. Your best bet is to ride in someone's C5 with an aftermarket exhaust system and if you like the SOUND, COPY IT.
A CAT BACK system will NOT add a lot of HP. On a good day 10- maybe 12 HP. Get a system cause you like the exhaust Note..
