Default Flywheel Lock Tool

I'am about to tackle the wobbling harmonic balancer on my 2000 c5. I have an A4, and I was looking for a way to keep the crank from turning. A seller has a flywheel lock tool on ebay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/LS1-2-3-LSX-...-/291579209955). It just looks to mount slightly different from the Kent Moore. Does anyone have experience with these? Would it mount?

Sounds good to me, the Kent Moore just looked a little different. Thanks!

I have one just like that and it works great, not to mention a hell of a lot cheaper than kent moore... I only used it to torque my flywheel bolts when I did my clutch though, I have had my balancer on and off a few times and never had to use it to torque the balancer bolt... my car is a 6 speed so I'm not sure if the autos are different but I would try pulling the parking brake and chocking the front and back of the rear wheels to keep it from creeping forward, if that works it would save you the time of having to remove your manifold/header and starter... obviously this is also assuming you are doing the job with the rear wheels on the ground, if the car is on a lift you might have to use that tool

I broke off 2 3/8 to half adapters with that tool tring to get my balancer off before i went to the store and got a 1/2" socket which still wouldn't get it off till i hit it with a torch for 20 seconds.

The tool is legit.

I use this way also. But the one time I did it and almost scratched my paint cause the wrench slipped and went flying is going to make me order one of these!
