Default octane 93

I live in an area that doesn't have 93 octane gas, they don't have 92 either. My only choice is 91. Since my c5 requires 93 octane should I be using an Octane Booster like Race Gas? Am I hurting my vette in any way by using 91 octane? Thanks!

Driving your car under normal conditions, 91 octane should be just fine. I don't believe that you will even notice a difference. Your PCM is more than capable of accommodating an octane rating of 91.

If you are planning on attending a track day or taking it to the strip to make a few passes, it certainly will not hurt to add some octane booster to maximize the performance of your car. 93 octane will however allow the car to perform at it's maximum design level.

Good luck... GUSTO

What is the elevation where you live.? I live in Idaho (3000 feet) the highest octane here is 91 due to the thinner air. Car runs great.

My Elevation here in Arizona is 2400 feet. Seems to run fine, but I was just curious because of what the Manual said for Octane requirement.

You are absolutely fine with 91.
AND Especially at that elevation
I live at about 900 feet. All we can get here is 91.
Never any problems at all.
So your 2400ft elevation, you would really be fine with even 89 ish

91 octane will work just fine in your C5. It is what is available around here and it has not given me any problems at all in the 6+ years I have owned my car. And in the 7+ years I owned my previous C5, no problems there either.
