Default C5 Z06 aerodynamics - Undertray/Diffuser?

I'm working on an aero pkg for my Z and I am wondering if anyone has done it before on theirs? I'm wanting to try and get the car pretty close to a flat belly car with a diffuser - functional - not tape on for looks stuff. Wondering if anyone has done this? thinking that this will all be only in front and behind the main tub.

Just want to try it and see how it works. I'm already doing side skirts and an airdam so I thought this would be a fun challenge to do a diffuser too.

Thanks

Andrew

Do some searches on the Autocross/Road racing section. I've seen threads there from time to time.

Might as well convert your car to front-breathing instead of bottom breathing if you're going to the trouble.

I agree ^^^ a bottom breather creates more lift and more drag. A front breather will cool better by allowing air to flow directly through the radiator rather than convoluted path created by front air dam scooping air up into pressurized shroud then redirected almost 90* to pass through radiator fins. More resistance for air = slower air speed = less heat dissipation.

Either system needs some really good hood venting for maximum effectiveness.

I'm picking up a spare hood this weekend for the car to chop up and fiberglass it to be like this one

What do you guys mean by the front breathing system? Have links to others builds or designs? I understand the theory with why the bottom breathing sucks. But I was thinking this hood would be a good happy medium. The car is a street car first, track car toy second. Just want to learn a lot in this car and the next one I will chop up and make a full race car out of next year.

Thinking splitter, hood mods and going to open the vents behind the front tires to pull air out from under the hood, rear belly pan and diffuser too.

Thoughts?

More explanation/links on those breathing setups, but I'm not gonna chop up the car. Maybe I could put the opening below the bumper in the air dam area?
Do you think my setup would be a good happy medium?

I have Tigershark front bumper with chin spoiler, I closed in the bottom with ABS plastic sheet and opened up the front of the plastic shroud back when I was running forced induction with intercooler up front as well. The car stayed cool even with the intercooler and 708/640 at the wheels. Recently removed supercharger and modifying a new shroud and closing off bottom again, this time with a home made splitter. I'll have work completed in a few weeks when work allows and post pics.
