Hey all, new guy here and I just bought my first corvette, its a 98 coupe and I love it. The car came with z06 wheels but I'm pretty sure there are no tpms sensors in the wheel, what year sensor do I need?..Figured there was a difference so I'm asking, thanks for any help.

A quick way to tell if there are TPM sensors in the wheels it to look at the valve stem. If it is a rubber one, it does not have the TPS in it. If it has a metal sleeve on the stem outside of the wheel, it could have the TPS installed but not working.
The TPMS is a nice feature but unless you are using run flat tires they are not an absolute necessity. As long as you don't mind checking the tire pressure the old fashioned way on a regular basis, you can live without them.
If you find the sensors are installed you can try the TPMS learning procedure just to verify that they have been programmed to the car, and are indeed nonfunctional.
As mentioned in previous posts you can get the '97-2000 sensors which are not inexpensive, or upgrade to the later model year system. The batteries in the sensors should last about 10 years so If you don't plan on keeping the car that long it may not be cost effective to upgrade to the newer system. The newer style sensors are cheaper but the initial cost to upgrade is probably more than the '97-2000 sensors.
If you do get new sensors check the date code molded into the plastic shell to make sure your getting new stock. It looks like a clock face. the arrows point to the month of mfg. the numbers on either side of the arrow is the year. 99, 00, 01 etc.
hey buddy welcome to the forum, I am originally from livingston, scroll through your DIC(on your right side dash panel) i think button number 2 and see if any tire pressure positions come up..good luck
