Buying time- Maintenance checklist
I have plans to eventually go with an UPP kit within the 2 years or so, and am planning on having the tranny and diff built to reliably handle in the ballpark of 550-600whp. Big numbers are not my intention, but reliability is a MUST.
Ideally I'd like to make this happen in one trip to the shop, with installation of the tranny, clutch, kit, diff, and the odds and ends to accompany all at once. Over time I plan on ordering the parts when I can, starting with the drivetrain and ultimately the kit, just in case my current tranny/diff calls it quits early. I'm hoping that by doing this, I can save some down time and save some money on labor.
In the meantime, I'm trying to buy some time while prepping, and want to make sure I'm not missing anything. Car is about to hit 100k miles. This weekend I'll be taking care of the following:
-New Gates Blue Belts with accompanying replacements of pulleys and tensioner
-New Redline tranny and diff oil (with extra additive)
-Goodridge SS lines, Stoptech pads (rotors are in good condition)
-New fuel filter
-New O2 sensors
-New front ABS harness extensions (throwing that code intermittently, bearings and sensor are fine)
-Coolant drain and refill (made sure to get Dexcool)
-New plugs and MSD wires
Oil is new, car has new RE760's, and MAF clean with relearn was recently done.
I'm debating on holding out for suspension bushings until we have to drop the suspension for the tranny work. The engine runs strong, but I may see about picking up valve springs and anything else relatively small but vital that I can do right now.
I'm looking for any guidance as to where to go from here regarding possible other issues I could run into. Basically trying to be prophylactic with the maintenance so when it's time to pull trigger on the big installs, it can happen without issue.
My apologies for the novel,
-Kasey

I would go with amsoil torque drive on transmission fluid. I ran red line previously and it didn't respond as well in cold weather.
If you're at all mechanically inclined these types of jobs would be a great opportunity to get familiar with your car and gauge what you're getting into when considering mods/maintenance. Either way good luck with your build.

I failed to mention I'll be doing all things mentioned this weekend myself with a hand from a friend. I'm not half bad with a wrench
