Curious why you are doing this? Reason I ask is my car has Z16 rims (polished GM Z06) and there are no tires available. I can get the correct rear but not the front, or vise versa. If I go with the size you are looking at it opens up several different tires that would be available.

What are you running in the rear?
I am running 285/40/18 in the rear, the 245's on the front rims are kind of stretched on the front. The front tires are 10 years old, so I am going to replace them. Just wanted to make sure the 275's don't rub. They are the same diameter as the stock fronts, so speedometer will be ok.
I run 275-40-17 and 305-35-18 NT01's on my Z16 rims. Car is a 2000.
The front is the same diameter as the stock 245-45-17s that came on my car. Its 12% wider.
Ther rear is 1/4" smaller in dia (less than 1% change) than the stock 275-40-18. Its 11% wider.

Nitto 555 275/40/17 here. No rubbing issues but my power steering pump gets a little noisy sometimes.
Those are the tires I have on back now, just need them for front. Dealer tore up bead while replacing TPS, gave me free tire, so I replaced the other rear too. They were 9 years old anyway, so it worked out! Now doing the front.
