2004 Base coupe. I have been trying to track down the cause of my non-operational cigarette lighter socket, IE. there is no power to the socket. I took the console out and checked the wires to the back of the socket. No voltage at the socket base. Then I checked the fuse box in the passenger foot well. The fuse is good, but there is no power to the fuse plug. I do not have access to a copy of the electrical schematic, so could someone give me a idea of what to check next? Thanks.

This may be a long shot, but did you check both fuses. One the lighter and one for the power plug in the console. I think they were labeled almost alike. I had the same problem and was looking at the wrong fuse
The main fuse for the Cig lighter is under the hood---
ALSO remember that GM hides the fuse to your car's OBD2 port on the cig lighter circuit----So if that circuit is dead then you would also have no communication on your OBD2 port as well------Just so you know it is NOT a good idea to use any type accessory battery chargers that plug into the lighter---The voltage is erratic and can drop down to 9 volts and spike up to 16 volts which can damage cell phones etc----Not to mention also disabling your OBD2 port
It's a crappy little clip and clips on the stud on the back of the socket. Wire is already kind of short.
Just to be clear, I pulled the console to check the back of the lighter socket. The socket and base are securely attached to each other, but there is NO voltage to the base. That's why I went to the fuse panel and there is NO voltage at the CIG fuse in the fuse panel.

My power port works OK, but I will try to find the fuse for it and double check that I am, in fact, looking at the correct fuse.
What I am hoping is someone who has access to a copy of the electrical schematic can look and see if there is a relay or BCM that the power for the cigarette lighter goes through. I believe the two ports (power in the console and cigarette lighter) are on different circuits because the console power port is HOT all the time and the cigarette lighter only has power when the ignition is switched ON. That's one reason I suspect an in-line relay or BCM is interrupting power to the socket.
Any help that you all can offer is appreciated as this problem is very frustrating. If anyone could direct me to a copy of the electrical schematic, I can probably trace the circuit for myself. Thanks.

You sir win the prize! You were exactly correct in your suggestion to check the "other" fuse. The labeling of the two power plugs leaves much to be desired. Who would have thought that CLTR would mean Cigarette Lighter as opposed to ConLtr Console Lighter. Suffice to say, bad fuse replaced and my frustration ended. WAHOO!
A tour of the back of your owners manual will provide a layout of BOTH the fuse boxes in the C5.
Thank you so much for posting the schematic. It, along with the previous poster's comment to check the other fuse, were the keys I needed to fix the problem. As the schematic shows, the labeling for the fuses is not self explanatory as to which services which power port. But following the line of power distribution leads to the appropriate power outlet. Thanks again. It is sooo good to be able to power my accessories again.
