Went to install my aftermarket head unit stereo, noticed my factory head unit was in security mode, "locked". I decided to remove it and not waste time unlocking it. Now Im looking to sell it. I have the lock code off it, will who ever purchases this have any issue unlocking it or installing it in their vehicle? Will it even need to be unlocked if its getting plugged into a different ECU/ vehicle ? Thank You
some lock and some don't...I bought one and had no issues and I sold one had no issues....there is a ton of info online on how to 'unlock" it so I wouldn't worry

If it is displaying "LOC" and you have the code, no problem. The owners manual tells you how to reset it.
IF however, it is displaying "INOP", you need to research on how to go about dealing with that issue like pewter said.

Here are a few files that talk about how to deal with a radio in the LOC and, should it happen, the INOP condition.
The files are old and I have not personally tried the procedures mentioned and I do not know if all the procedures mentioned still work (especially the phone numbers), but at one time members report they worked.
