Default Side bar questions regarding header install

Recently purchased a set of LG headers, high flow cats and X-pipe here off the forum.
First question: Is it worthwhile to wrap the headers? Which product best?
Second question: What products would I use to protect the starter and the AC lines?
Any other tips or suggestions would be appreciated.
Ordered new clamps from LG
Ordered all new gaskets, plugs and wires from Gene
Thank you
Chas

Ceramic coating is better than wrap. Keeps heat in better, no chance of trapping moisture like wrap can...
LG is a great brand; should be far enough away from AC lines and starter to not cause any issues, particularly if you coat the headers.
My TSP headers are not coated, no issues.

Well,,,,,,,,,,,,, Its not a good idea to WRAP the headers. What you should do is have them ceramic coated. I wasn't a ceramic coating fan until I had mine done. WOW! It made a significant difference!

Drops the heat in the engine compartment A LOT.

Makes the header look a LOT nicer too.

YES, it a good bit of cash but,, its the PROPER way to do it.

If you wrap the headers, it may cause contact points where its close to body and chassis parts.

Several people make a starter shield. Try Summit.

I actually made my own. I uses foil covered high heat ducting material with high heat fiberglass wool between the front and back layers.. Its the same stuff that should already be on the one Suction Line near the engine.

I am not a fan of wrap, I would only have them ceramic coated... as far as the starter thermo-tec makes a really good adhesive backed heat barrier that you can cut out to whatever size you need... I covered my starter body and solenoid with that and used some strategically placed zip ties just in case the adhesive loosened up over time and that has held up great... on the clamps, unless lg has started using new ones I would go with a lap band clamp like these, http://www.jegs.com/i/Dynomax/289/33272/10002/-1 ... when I bought my lg's I replaced the clamps before installing the system and they never leaked, you will need 6 to cover the whole system... that was roughly 5-6 years ago so they may have switched clamps, I'm not really sure on that
