Well I felt like clearing the waters here cose I have red a lot of nonsense written ,from air reserve to reverse flow and I don't know what else...the resonator boxes, pipes or whatever shape they are is to reduce intake noise and that's it they are simply made for people who don't want to hear engine noises!!! Now the negative effect of these devices is they slow down air flow here is why,as air runs down the intake and passes by the resonator it gets distracted ,it's like an obstacle in the pipe .now the most common thing I hear is It's an air reserve To all who think of it that way take a beer bottle put the neck in your mouth and try to suck the air out of it ( good luck )!

Hmm. Corvette flags, definitely a factory assembly... somebody with more knowledge than I will chime in.
As far as I know that is not from any C5, pretty sure they're all the same as one another apart from the larger Z front opening.
There is wired ones...it's c5...each year have different emblem and that is c5 flags...I know what you saying though moist common is simple air bridge...should have posted to c6 forum for all the guys who wonder way to du with the resonators
Never have seen this air tube either on any C5-----The purpose of these air intake "mufflers" is to quite down the air suction and engine noise that is transmitted thru the intake system-----They are hugely restrictive from an airflow standpoint as when the air enters those chambers it creates air turbulence and disrupts the airflow
