Default C5 Underhood Light

Hello

Does anyone out there have any experience with the little light that is attached to the underside of the hood? Mine did not light up, so I replaced the bulb with a Sylvania 211-2LL as recommended and still no light. What am I missing?

Thanks

The connector for that light (where it connects to the cars harness) is on the front passengers side of the radiator shroud about 8" down from the top. Its a small 2 way water tight connector. Make sure that its properly connected.

I would also check the fuse for that circuit.

There is also a gravity switch that turns it on when the hood is raised.. But I've never had to learn about how it works.. but you may need to.

Thanks, SDVette

You are right about the gravity switch. I played around with the connector Bill referred to and it came on.

In general, my dealer service department disconnects the light when they will be under the hood for any amount of time. Sometimes they forget to reconnect it.

BTW it goes out about 15-20 minutes after the hood being opened.
