Outside mirror replacement
The left outside mirror on my '03 convertible has stopped working. The motor still functions properly. After removing the mirror glass and case I found that it had come loose from the motor. The '03 FSM shows jackscrews on the back of the case. Mine does not have jackscrews. The motor has four stands with ***** on the end that fit into depressions on the case to allow for mirror rotation.
It appears that the mirror came off one of the ***** not allowing the mirror to follow the motor. This car has the heated mirrors and memory package. There are two black wires that were not attached to anything when I removed the mirror case. I can find nothing for them to be attached. The case ring has the heater wiring attached.
Does anyone have any idea as to where these black wires go and were jackscrews used on all year C5 cars?
