Default Hood light harness and switch

I´m removing the hood insulator and hood light (want to do a nice paint job also on the back side).

Can I use the harness connector in front of the radiator to feed some custom hood lights mounted in the fenders?

My concern is:
is there power in that harness all the time due to the level switch in the OEM hood light?
will the 15 minutes power cut of continue working - so I can use it as a safety, if I forget to turn of the manual switch I plan to install?

That means I could use that connector as power supply for the new engine compartment light - BUT I´m not a big fan of connecting all than non OEM accessories to a wire, that runs through the BCM.

I think I´ll make its own wirering and try to install a pressure switch like those installed in the doors.

The engine compartment lights will need power at all time - but were would be a good spot to pick up power, if I where to install other items that only needs power when ignition is on?

If it is still FACTORY UN-USED, it will look like this. It goes to a connector SO, you can disconnect it and work on it in an easy open area.

I didn't know that it went to a connector... After I found the connector is was pissed!

Its a 20A fused circuit for both Hot at ALL times & Hot in ON & RUN

The bundle is in the left corner of the foot well behind the toe kick and unless a previous owner has used them they are blunt cut and the ends taped over. Yellow wire is fused by fuse #11 and orange wire by fuse #7 both 20 A fuses and both located in the passenger foot well fuse box.

I have personally never been a fan of cutting into some unknown draw circuit to add an new accessory thereby increasing the draw of the circuit so I would add an extension wire to the wires GM provided and run them into the engine compartment or where ever they need go. JMHO...

If you want un-switched power in the engine compartment the fuse box or the battery are right there so that is a possibility but you will need to provide your own fusing.
That was exactly what I was looking for - thank you. I will use those wires for the few electric accessories.
