Hello fellow vette owners. My first time on the forum and first time vette owner, so here goes. I own a C5 convertible, black on black, 6 spd stick, only owned the car for a year now. I installed a dual cone air intake with a carbon fiber air duct and a B&B exhaust system last year. You know, a little every year. This year I need to replace the Bose sound system and this where I ran into a snag. Removal of the rear speaker panels, I really need some help here. If anybody has done this please drop me a line with some instructions or where to locate instructions on how to get those panels off in one piece. thanks
I did it when I removed everything to add insulation under the carpet, but I forget how, probably because it was so easy. I'm pretty sure a few clips hold them on, but not the kind that break easily. I think they'll just pop off if you pull gently.

I will try the pulling gently and let you know in a couple of days. thanks
Yeah, that's what going on. I did try a little pry action and no movement. Thanks I will keep you posted.
I removed just the speaker grills from my '01 coupe, in order to replace the speakers. All I did, was gently pry against the back of the grill, as well as push it down and toward the center of the opening. At least in my car, the grills had enough "flex" in them, that this allowed them to pop out.
I have a new HU Kenwood. I lost practically all base. I'm thinking about upgrading all door speakers with JBL GX302 and JBL G7629.. Passably replacing the Rear speakers also with the JBL7689s. Will the current speaker wires support these speakers? Will this fix the base problem? I am not looking to rattle the windows.

Sounds like you didnt connect up the bose subwoofers. Its not a bad idea to replace the bose speakers, but if the stock bass was good enough just connect them. How did you connect the new radio to the speakers?
