Default Need help with C5 driver window

The motor has been replaced about a year and a half ago. Im in there right now and it looks good from what I can see. The switch seems ok as well. All buttons work, except the driver window. When I press the driver side window you can hear a click and even see the volt gauge move, the window just doesnt do anything. Not sure what Im missing here.

After dealing with C5 window regulators for 10 years, I decided that since there is no limit switch, the drive gears just get in a bind and cause the window to stick. The motor drives the window up against the stops until it stalls.

Sometimes just tapping on the motor, while pressing on the down button, will free it up and the window will start working again.
I have had brand new regulators stick within a few weeks, so most of the time it is not the motor being burned out.

What I started doing is, after rolling the window up, I would bump the window down switch just enough to release the pressure on the drive gears. If you do it quick enough, the window only drops a fraction of an inch.

Anyway, once I started doing that, the window regulator never stuck again.

You might try wiggling the wires in the door jam, but if you are hearing a click, then it is probably not a bad wire.

Could be a broken/exposed wire in the door jam accordion where the wires run into the door. I would pull the accordion back and take a look, could try tapping that area while pushing the button. Could be a bad relay too.

Did you pull back the door accordion to check the wires?

I think so. (unless you trade for a C7)
You might try bumping the down then up button quickly to unload the gears and see if that helps.
The glass will not drop enough to cause any problems with sealing if you do it quickly.

It appears to be just a bad design.

Where are you measuring that voltage and what was the value?
