Default NEED HELP ASAP!! on lowering a C5

I just finished lowering my 2001 vert 5 minutes ago and noticed that the front was about a inch higher than the front. I lowered the rear by taking out the out of the 6 rubber bushings and 2 treads showing, and in the front I lowered it to the point that 10 treads showing. With this I figured it would be even in the front and back or did I lower the back too much or does it need time to settle in the front.

I figured if anyone would know it would be you guys so Thanks!

For now I would raise the back up a little so it is level. Drive the car and see how the front settles. Adjust the rear accordingly after the front settles. :yesnod:

I backed the rears out until two threads this left about 2.5" above the tires. For the front I turned the bolt up until it bottomed out. Not sure about how the rubbers affect it but that may be your problem. The bolts only allow for @ 1"-1.5" drop. Mine is level with the bolts dropped, not slammed just right for me.

If you are measuring the height from the ground to the fender lip, you should have a difference of about 1 inch between the front and the back, with the back being higher. You have 18 inch wheels on the back and 17 inch wheels on the front, so the car is designed to have a higher fender in the back.

Go drive it for at least 20-30 miles on some ordinary roads (not glass smooth, but not off-roading either ;) ) and let the car settle. THEN come back and measure your results. Otherwise you'll be chasing rabbits.

Hope this helps,
Mike

just had the same thing happen to my 98. ended up putting part of the rear bushings back in to level it out even after adjusting the front to its lowest possible adjustment. As a side note I read a post that indicated that they also cut the front bushing, I sent an e-mail to this person but have not gotten an answer yet on how exactly to get the front bushing out to cut it
