2000 Corvette piston slap

I have a bought a nice 2000 Corvette with 42000 miles. It has piston slap when cold. It is gone after driving approx. 10 minutes and oil gets up to 200 degrees. I have read doing a top end clean with GM top end cleaner will cure the problem for approx. 5-10000 miles. This does drive me nuts for the first 10 minutes of driving. Any advise will be helpful. I use 5-30 Mobile one with Mobile one filter...I saw something online about going back to an original AC filter to help??

Yep, that what I thought. I am not going to waste the money trying the top end cleaner.

My old Grand Am did that since new. Sounded like a diesel when cold. Still ran well over 200K miles until the New England body rot got to it.

Mobil-1 is a very thin 30W oil, you could try something higher in the 30W range like the Castrol 0W30 made in Belgium. Autozone may have it.
