Much less noise than I thought, at idle and cruising at least. :D

Yesterday I took off my Borla Stingers to scrape a 1/4" of caked and baked rubber off of them. I also polished them up nicely, and removed some rubber from the underside of the car.

I was curious to see how the car sounded without mufflers, so I started it up and took a ride to pick up some pizza.

Idling was much quieter than I though. Once the engine warmed up and the RPMs dropped, it wasn't much louder than with my mufflers on. Light throttle wasn't too loud either. But once I got on the parkway, all hell broke loose.:D It sounded like a NASCAR! Going under underpasses was deafening, and I got all sorts of looks.

The part I couldn't believe the most was, no drone. :confused:
Don't get me wrong, you could hear the exhaust. But it was a pleasant sound and no drone at all.

Around town was fun. Some woman was going the opposite direction as me and was waiting to make a left. I was driving slow so she could go, she started to turn, but she stopped and was blocking a good part of my lane. So when I passed her, I applied 3/4 throttle, and probably made her poop her depends. :yesnod:

So today I stopped at Pep Boys and picked up some 2.5" "tail pipes". I'll probably use them as turn downs till I decide to put my mufflers back on or get a ticket. :eek:

 

I am assuming you are running high flow cats still?

I ran the stock system w/o mufflers, sounded cool, but not nearly as loud as I expected.
