How having fun with the new ls-7 and rolled raced my buddy. Afterwords I got a CEL. Pulled codes and only one of significance was P0332 rear knock sensor. So I'm going to check the rear knock but it's having trouble holding idle. Would this code cause the idle issue?
Here is the diagnostics for you from Bill Curlee, refer to Post 4. I can't say it would cause an idle issue but I think it can. Fix that issue first since it has to be fixed.
It's really weird. I looked underneath and both sensors and wiring seem to be fine. I cleared the code in the DIC and took it out. Everything seems to be running fine. The idle hunts a little bit (little more than before). I would think that if the motor was continuing to hear know, it would light the CEL again. Am I wrong on that? I ran it out pretty hard a few minutes ago. Hmmm
Like I said, I was roll racing a buddy on a deserted street and I missed a gear and hit the limiter. I'm assuming it heard knock at that point.

You may have dodged a bullet.... NO MORE MISSING GEARS
You do not understand. The code is NOT for the knock sensor working. There are no codes for that. The code is for an open circuit or short to ground. It may have cleared. We'll see.
I guess I am not clear. If the knock sensor heard a knock, the voltage change through the sensor set off the code right? If I clear the code and do not get another code and or CEL, does that mean the event is not repeating and all is good? Is there a way that the computer would keep the engine in open loop vs closed loop to protect itself. Could it be pulling timing? I don't have a scanner so I can't tell but the motor seems richer than it did before. Looks like I need to get it over to someone with a scanner...sigh
When the knock sensor works correctly there is NO code thrown. Only a code when there is a problem detected with the circuit. I would not worry about it unless the code comes back.
Correct, everything should be normal unless a knock detector causes a change. I am too old to hear a knock so I let my daughter check my toys by listening. I have to blend racing gas in for a couple of my cars and I don't like to retard the timing. The Corvette is the only one with electronics (too much IMHO).
