Where do you guys get yours? It's time for another oil change so I just went with Mobil1 5w30 because no local stores carry the gc 0w30. Next change I want to try this stuff out. Is there a good place to order is from online? Thanks
What's with the need to use ZERO weight oil?
Unless you live in a very cold climate,, 5 or even 10-30 will work fine. IMHO, zero weight at start up is crazy unless you are living in subfreezing environments..
Where do you live? Maybe that why you cant find it. Is NOT a big seller..

That was my thought when I first found out about, but apparently it is very popular in the LS community. It has provided very good results in oil analysis tests and seems to work really well in our motors.

Great oil... I get it at autozone or advance auto.
It appears that they recently changed from the 0W-30 to 0W-40 for the German produced Castrol from what's on the shelf at AutoZone.
Mobil 1 makes a 0W-40 European oil which works well in American V8's. Very good low and high temp protection. Ive been using it in all my vehicles for 20 years now with good results.

I got the castrol syntec 0w40 on sale for very cheap at autozone. I put it in my 5.3 silverado and caused it to have a knocking sound so I drained it and put m1 5w30 back in... knocking gone.

Sounds like your 5.3 has other problems like worn out bearings that the lower viscosity oil revealed. The 0W-40 actually has better high temperature stability and protection than a 5W-30, but in reality they're not all that different.

Yeah possibly. It was only on startup that I had the knocking, once warmed up the sound went away.
