Cam Swap Insight and Thoughts Needed
So, I've been throwing around the idea of swapping my cam out. I've seen a good guide on how to do it yourself step by step. This is the guide I will be using. http://www.ls1howto.com/index.php?article=1
Now, in this guide he lists Thunder Racing as a place to get parts. That company is out of business from the looks of it.
I am looking for a list of parts to get. Specifically a list of the following items:
- 2 LS1/LS6 engine heads
- 1 Camshaft
- Underdrive crank pulley
- blueprinted oil pump
- New timing chain
I've done some of my own research, but frankly the amount of parts and information out there is OVERWHELMING to say the least. I just want to be able to order the parts, and know they all work together.
My 2001 C5 has a Corsca Exaust and a VaraRam Ram Air intake.
Please please help!
Thanks,
Shawn
Lots to think about and then to share with the forum.

A close friend is likely going with the same combination as the topic below but with a FAST92/LS2 throttlebody. He will actually be pulling out a larger cam to gain mid range.

Brian Tooley Racing, Tick, and EPS http://www.engpwrsys.com/ have all been great to deal with in my build. I think you can get the EPS cam through Brian Tooley, but have not verified
Other things to consider, how does your state test emissions? what kind of idle are you looking for? any drag strip or HPDE time? stock gears or something like 3.73s?
