that would be a decent cam....but the vendors here have a HUGE selection :yesnod: ..... check them out and you will get a lot of info
You need to tell us what your objectives and expectations are from a cam... The cam you mentioned is very mild for an MN6 and will not provide the most performance you can get for the bucks, especially if you have other mods that would enhance the results...

Andy from A&A sold me the cam thats in my sig. He will also be using this cam in his Z06 but I bet that won't last long. Its made by Comp Cams as well.
Re: Comp Cams Tech Dept suggestion for a 6 Speed with all the bolt ons (C5-JIM)
So far it sounds like my cam profile may be low for a 6 speed. Iam open for new #s, don't want to do this self install but once. Thanks for all the input. C5JIM

Your cam needs is dictated by your heads and/or springs. I don't recall the max lift for a stock '99 set of springs. If you plan to stay stock with the heads, your cam choices are limited. The least you will need to do is upgrade your springs. If that's the case, I would recommend you call Andy at A&A Corvette and discuss your needs with him. He sells a set of dual springs that will fit your stock heads thereby allowing you to go much more aggresively on the cam. He will also be able to advise you on what cam based on what you're looking to achieve. Look at my sig and you'll see what my setup is. I'm running the dual REV springs with my cam. One thing to remember is that the more aggressive you go with lift and duration, the more often you will need to change springs. I'm expecting to have to change springs about every 12K miles on my car. I may push my luck to about 18K-20K, but at this point, I've been pushing my valvetrain pretty hard since I've upped my rev limiter to 6700. My car idles very good with just a hint of menacing power under the hood. You will probably need to get headers if you don't already have them. Mine are on the way. That's the last piece I have to install to complete my setup (for now anyway :D ). Also, you need to be thinking about tuning once your cam is installed. Most heads/cam jobs need tuning. Sometimes, with just a cam, you can get away with stock tuning, however, why bother if you're not going to try to get the max hp you're entitled to with a given setup. Think about emissions too. If you live in a state where smog control is important, factor that in too. That should give you some food for thought. Call Andy for some good advice.
