C5 door boot removal/replacement

C5 door boot removal/replacement
I have a 2000 coupe and want to replace the ribbed rubber door boots.The door side easily came out but the car side wont come out. Is there aa trick to removing these? Thanks for your help.

It has been awhile since I've done it. I usually approach something like this with my hand forming an upside-down "U" shape and placing it over the boot so my thumb and forefinger are close to the chassis. (left hand for the driver's side and right hand for passenger side) Push your thumb towards the front of the car and start applying a downward and slightly outward force with your hand. (Kind of like tearing a bunch of papers motion.) The top of the boot should pop out or at least give you some room to put a screw driver in to pry it out. HTH
