Default Emergency Hood release

UPDATE 6/30- Ok, got them easily installed as below and exactly as illustrated in the instructions. However, I noticed the small loop on the lanyard would pop off the latch actuator when I opened the hood from inside with pull the handle. So Just FYI for anyone who may have experienced this........

So, I solved the problem by buying a couple of standard outdoor tapered faucet washers and slipping them over the end of the latch part holding the small lanyard loop. The little rubber washer slips onto the slotted end of the actuator and prevents the lanyard loop from popping or springing off. Fixed it for good and works perfectly Can't believe I would be the only one to experience this event. Rube Goldberg engineering still lives!

OK, I have the issue cited below figured out! Since there were no instructions enclosed in the packet, I looked them up just now on the MAM site and learned from them that the correct attachment point is, in fact, the top right-hand bolt for the hood latch on the driver side and top left-hand bolt on the passenger side latch. That will allow for proper release of the hood latch when pulling the lanyard should the main cable ever crap the bed. I was out looking at it and had deduced as much, and the online instructions confirmed it. I had attached to the wrong bolt.

So, I got the kit for 19 bucks. I installed the left side, but it does not actuate anything and I can't pull it at all to open the latch. I must have done something wrong, perhaps in attaching the lower small loop. Until I tried to install the Z51 front bar upside down, I swore I could fix most anything. Now I feel a bit embarrassed.

successfully, I think it is a poorly engineered POS and would not buy it or monkey around with it.
