Temperature control device??
I hijacked a thread entitled "Fasterprom cooling" dealing with some cool cooling technology and was asking them about a vender that sells a little device that kicked the fans on at 180- 200 degrees instead of the normal 218 220 - for a C5. Thought I would open it up to the forum community and give everyone a chance to weigh in. I saw it once on a thread and DID NOT get the info or the vendors name
As I recall, it consisted of a switch, relay and some wiring. Recently I've cleaned/detailed the fans and fan shroud, debugged the radiator and condenser, getting all the road crap out of the fins. Though I would take it a little further and add this device as well. I'm open to any suggestions relating to information helping improve cooling efficiency. Car will be in some up-coming parades this year and want to get every cooling edge I can. Thanks

You can install a 160 degree stat and have a tuner reprogram the fan settings... ours runs about 187 all the time

You do know your C5 is a bottom breathing, trash sucking, plastic sack eating machine? The BEST way to insure that your car is going to cool properly is to make SURE the A/C condenser and the Radiator are VERY clean and that the coolant is fairly fresh, and has the proper level. Make sure the fans are functioning and you should be good to go

Enjoy your ride and the parade

Changing oil, some months ago, I found a plastic dry cleaning bag wrapped around the lower fan. Its a good idea to check the area every now and then.
