Autotap / MAFT Questions...
I put a VaraRam,and new Bridge/coupler on my 2000 C5.
I purchased an AutoTap(enhanced) and a MAFT from a forum member.
My questions are, what kind of run do I make when hooked up to the AutoTap, do I hook up, start the record, drive normally, then run a 1/4 mile full out,
Then come back export the data to a spreadsheet, try my best to figure out how much to adjust the MAFT, possibly upload the results to a forum member :) and make the adjustments? Just looking for tips/procedures here, I know dozens of you guys have done this already...Thanks in advance.
Kyle

The parameters you want to look at in autotap are:
Long Term Fuel Trim Bank1
Long Term Fuel Trim Bank2
Current Fuel Cell
Engine Speed
Vehicle Speed
Timing Advance
Knock Retard
O2 Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 1
O2 Sensor Bank 2 Sensor 1
While driving around normally and varying your speed, you want to look closely at your Long Term Fuel trims. And what thier values are, most specifically between 0 - 19 fuel cells.
Your goal is to adjust the BASE on the MAF Translator if necessary to dial in Zero, or less than 0 Long Term Fuel trim valves. Once you have acomplished this. Then, and only then, do you move on to WOT tuning.
Remember that you must drive quite some time. Possibly 200 miles between making changes to the BASE setting on the MAFT.
Once you go to WOT tuning, you dont need to wait to make such changes.
WOT tuning will focus in on what the factory O2 sensor values are. They are innacurate at WOT, but will get you close. The best method is using a wide band 02 sensor, such as on a dyno.
Did I mention you guys ROCK? :flag
I'm sure I will have more questions after I do the initial run.
Thanks for the jumpstart!,
Kyle
