I had my car up on jack stands and was looking at the harmonic balancer. I assume it's the original but I just want to make sure. It looks like the bolt is painted white and has some orange paint on it too. I apologize for the crappy pictures. The balancer has part # 591220
Since it's my own thread I'm gonna deviate from the original topic. How does the dealer drain/flush the P/S? I have residue on the shaft on the drivers side. I didn't look too in depth but it was around where the hoses connect. I checked the levels and they're ok. I don't know if it was a previous leak, a slow leak, or possibly spillage from when the dealer changed out the fluid.

Could be spillage, etc. Spray the area down with engine cleaner, Simple Green (do NOT let this product dry before hosing) or even brake cleaner. Get everything hosed off and go from there.

Thanks. I know that's the best thing to do. I really wish I could dip my car in simple green or brake cleaner. At 93k and previous owners lack of maintaining the non-plastic area's of the enigne makes it a little sore to look at.

Mine was really nasty when we got it so...
Wizards makes great line of products... I used their power cleaner on my engine bay... SOAKED it really good with the covers off ( put a plastic bag over the alternator) then gently rinsed with the garden hose...dried with the leaf blower that was almost 2 years ago and still looks very nice...
I didn't I knew I wasn't going to have it wet for long and a one time only deal... so I just went for it and soaked the entire engine pretty good with the wizards... it didn't take much rinsing ... everything just ran off... I rinsed quickly and started drying it off with the leaf blower... it SHOULD take a little moisture we have driven in freaking pouring rain on the interstate at 60ish... but, I know some guys will NOT get under the hood wet ... it sure didn't hurt ours a bit and it looks WAY better...maybe I was just lucky or others are just TOO paranoid, and I get that
The same people who never wash theirs will call you a complete idiot who doesn't deserve the car if you wash yours.
Every electrical connector under the hood has a good gasket in it. Keep the hose nozzle partially open so the spray is gentler and you'll be fine. Don't use a pressure washer and don't spray hard into critical parts like around the throttle body or under the intake.
Well, you can use a pressure washer with a wide spray if you keep back a bit, but it's safer not to.
EVERYTHING under the hood gets wet if you drive through a heavy rain.
The heavy duty Simple Green does work well. One of my other cars had a plugged vent on the transmission and it blew oil all over the engine compartment, windshield, roof etc when it got hot. I tried to throw a big towel around the dipstick to catch the oil but it blew out before I could. I Simple Green'd it and washed it and it cleaned everything right up.

I still had the OEM from my '99 in the garage. It is the same as your picture. It has the same 591220 number on it too.

Looks like you have the OEM balancer.
Good luck.
Thanks for the confirmation. So far no wobbles. I'm going to be making a few long distance trips this summer so fingers crossed she holds together. lol
