Left the springs as delivered and love the feel. The acceptability of tension settings will be on a individual basis. They are easy to change...all you need is a quarter inch allen key. Place a rag about the shifter if you decide to change them as they can/do easily fall from your hand and then down into the dreaded tunnel. Enjoy your shifter...

Love it stock, but may play with the springs some day.
I started with factory installed springs. Have changed setting and springs several times. Now using lightest springs with 4 turns in and am very happy. Still rattles at wot. :yesnod:
Mine is now on it's way in from LAPD. Since my wife also drives the car, I plan to switch to the light springs right away to minimize her effort driving the car.
put in the light springs (small and large)
Instructions say to you have one revolution of adjustment on the alan bolts (3.5 turns in stock from where it starts to catch) so... I put them in with the left side 1/2 turn out(3 turns) to make hitting 5th easier and put the right in 1/2 turn(4 turns) so it pulls into third by itself. I like the set up and never miss any shifts.
I have had mine in for a week, left the factory springs and settings as they were. I will probably try the lighter ones soon. It is a good deal that we CAN change them to our liking.
I played around with all the springs just to see what the effect was but settled on the lightest springs on both sides. The biggest thing I have to watch out for is not putting it in 3rd instead of 1st when moving off from standstill.
I get a gentle buzz/rattle when cruising not too loud or annoying but definitely there. I have noticed that if I move the stick just a fraction away from the extreme of its movement the buzz dies away. I removed the throw stop screws completely but am contemplating putting them back in and adjusting them so that they prevent the stick from going too far and eliminate the noise. That's the theory anyway !
I installed my Hurst. I used the two lightest springs for both sides, 3 turns on the left and 4 turns on the right. It's fairly stiff. I'm thinking of taking the inner spring out and just using the outer lightest springs.
