Problems With Headlight Motor Gear Replacement

My 2002 C5 right headlight gear recently took a dump. After removing it and locating 3 nylon teeth in the gear box I ordered a brass/bronze gear assembly from a major Corvette aftermarket supplier. Upon receipt and trying to insert the shaft in the new gear, I noticed the inside diameter for the shaft was smaller than the one in my old gear. In looking at various websites I find that 2 motors were used on the C5's but nothing on the shaft sizes. One supplier sells the gear for the 97-99/00 and 00-04 while another sells the gear for 97-04. Which is correct?
One supplier tells me one thing and the other wont accept a return.
Is your motor OEM? The only other possibility that comes to my mind is a bad headlight gear kit.
Rodney Dickman's kits are probably the best and more complete out there, and he sells both kits. Take a look for yourself and compare to each other the 2 kind of available kits.
