3 loud bangs and the engine died?
Under hard acceleration my car went bang 3 times then shut off. They sounded like backfires. I started it right back up and I tried to repeat this situation several times but it ran fine. Hmmm. Thanks, Vince :confused:

Doesn't sound good at all unfortunately I don't know what it could be. A pushrod maybe? Have you over-revved the engine? Good luck getting it all sorted out :cheers:

Either go through the Engine with a fine tooth comb yourself OR take it to a tuner shop and have them do it.
If the problem has not repeated itself at low or high revs, normal or spirited driving then it could be just a case of something getting in to the air intake or fuel mixture at the time.

This sounds like your fuel system sucked something through it and the motor didnt like it too much. Maybe some kind of dirty fuel you picked up in your last tank. If its running fine now then thats great but my bet would be it was a fuel problem thats gone now.

I had a similar problem and it turned out to be a loose air bridge. Check everything on your air intake sytsem and make sure it is all tight.
